Occlusion, Delivery Procedures, and Management of Complications

February 7, 2020

Occlusion is a controversial subject in dentistry on its own; add dental implants into the mix, and it becomes quite complicated. Teeth and dental implants differ in many ways. The periodontal ligament is absent around implants; teeth drift and shift with craniofacial change, while dental implants remain stationary. Strategies must be in place to accommodate these differences.

At the conclusion of this program, each participant should be able to

  • Recognize and understand occlusion as it relates to the dental implant patient
  • Learn how to prevent complications related to faulty occlusion
  • Learn how to maintain a patient after dental implant therapy is complete
